Margaret was born on November 16, 1918 in Corsicana, Texas to Samuel Gill and Hannah (Timmins) Gill.
She served in World War II as a founding member of the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC). She met her first husband, Ova Collings, when they were both stationed at the same base. They were married on September 21, 1946 and eventually settled in south Kansas City with their son, Terry. After Ova’s passing in 1964, Margaret was employed at Western Auto. She married Jack Stanley in 1976 and they moved to Grandview, Missouri. He died in 1993.
Margaret was a confident, independent woman. She took pride in her home and family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Hickman Mills Christian Church.
Margaret is survived by her son, her granddaughter Shelly, her great-grandson A.J. and many devoted nieces and nephews and their families. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
