Margaret Rose (Ryan) Bridge, 81, of Wellsville, KS passed away Friday, October 30th, 2020. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64133 and burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Garden. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4th at the chapel and the graveside service will follow right after. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Margaret was born August 7, 1939 in Lamar, Missouri to Claude A. and Alma (Paul) Ryan and lived in Independence, Missouri for most of her life. In 1958, she married Franklyn E. Gifford and had 3 children. In 1974, Margaret married Delmar Bridge to whom she was married for almost 30 years and then in 2004, she moved to Wellsville, KS to be closer to her daughter. Margaret was a homemaker and babysat several grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years. She also worked part-time for many years in the Raytown and Wellsville school districts.
Margaret was an avid bowler and for several years bowled on a winter team league. She loved taking motorcycle trips and being outdoors; often walking for hours around the parks and neighborhood. With her flowers she had a green thumb, as her flower gardens bloomed with different varieties of lilies, iris, and other flowering plants. She also considered herself a “rock hound” as she had quite the collection of rocks from car trips taken to different areas and states.
Margaret was proceeded in death by her parents Claude and Alma Ryan and one grandson, Ryan Lee Gifford. Survivors include a daughter Connie Pearce and her husband Rob of Wellsville, KS; two sons, Randy Gifford and his wife Marilyn of Independence, MO and Ed Gifford of Independence, MO; a brother, Claude (Sonny) A. Ryan and his wife Sue of Independence, MO; a sister, Gloria White of Holden, MO; and 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
