Mae Marie Ihrig

was born on October 8, 1922 in Kansas City, KS to James H and Bertha (Schremmer) Farris.

She graduated in 1939 from Northeast Hight School in Kansas City, MO. On January 25, 1943,

Mae married Clinton Ihrig. They enjoyed 63 years together.

Mae worked as a secretary at several government agencies, such as the FFA, IRS and

Department of Energy. She retired in 1981.

Mae loved to socialize. She and lifelong friends were members of The Girl’s Club and Pinochle

Club that met monthly for over 70 years. She and Clinton hosted many themed parties. She

was a Girl Scout Leader and deacon at Overland Park Presbyterian Church.

Family played a big part in Mae’s life. Keeping in contact and visiting relatives was always a

priority. And she loved spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, James H and Bertha Farris; husband, Clinton Ihrig;

and brother Kenny Farris. She is survived by her son, David (Sherry) Ihrig; daughter, Gail (Neil)

Albauer; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be a Visitation Monday, March 7, 2022 at 9:00AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home,

Raytown, MO. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00AM. Following the Graveside Service, a light

lunch will be served for family and friends to visit and share memories.
