Lynn B. Jackson Sr., was born to Archie Jackson and Walker T. (Kellie Wauketee) Davenport in Waterloo Lauderdale, Alabama on Sep 18, 1934. Lynn’s mother died very young. Lynn was 3 years old. His mother’s oldest sister, Lovie Laura Mastin raised Lynn B. Jackson Sr. He relocated to Kansas City, MO in 1951.

He departed this world on August 17, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Willie John Stanley, William Jackson, three sisters Mildred Lambert Jackson, Ruth Austin, Mary Mattie Shaver and three daughters, Barbara Jackson, Katherine Walker, Tanja Williams a son, Gregory Bacon and three granddaughters TaQuisha Wilson, Trinity Ross, and Jamaya Herron.
Lynn married Tom Taylor January 20, 1952. This marriage birthed 8 children. He leaves to cherish Patricia Turner, Patsy Ross (Ervin), Lynn B. Jackson Jr. (Tammy/Tandra), Don Jackson (Gwendolyn), Archie Jackson (Retha), Rocky Jackson, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews cousins and friends.
Lynn Jackson Sr. accepted Jesus Christ and was raised as a Methodist. He later joined Grace Unlimited Baptist Church. Lynn had repented for his sins and loved life. Lynn was a very loving kinsman, loved children and people. Lynn acted as father to many children. Everyone called him Jitterbug. Lynn loved to dance, work on cars and worked very hard to take care of his family. During his journey he attended Waterloo, Alabama grade school. Lynn was an entrepreneur and owned his own auto repair shop located off 39th Woodland and 27th Lister. Lynn retired and transcended into the next phase of his journey. He was a hustler and made his monies by transporting customers to and from grocers.
Lynn B. Jackson Sr. married Jewel Y. Rhodes on May 15, 1993. She preceded him in death. Lynn leaves his step-sons Lester Hughes, Rocky Hughes.
Lynn leaves to cherish his children Patricia K. Robinson (Johnny), Delores Renee Herron (Joseph), Brenda Washington (Donald)
Lynn will be “Tremendously” missed. Let us keep him in our hearts.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 25, 2017 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd. followed by cremation. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am Friday at the Chapel. Fond memories and condolences may be shared at www.mcgilleymidtownchapel.com.
