She was born July 30, 1965 in Kansas City, MO to Ferrill Franklin Rose and Linda (Lynne) Murphy Rose. She is survived by her loving husband Norman Eugene Johnston of 34 years, daughter Rebecca Renee (Alex) and son Brian Edward of the home, parents Ferrill and Lynne Rose, Florence, MO, siblings Deborah Rose, Spokane, WA, Kathleen (Jimmy) McCullough, Lubbock, TX and Dr. Frankie (Ellen) Rose, Lincoln, NE, niece Emma Rose and nephews Ethan and Evan Rose, Aunt Janet (Robert) Adams, Colorado Springs, CO, Uncle Dan (Connie) Murphy, Collinsville, IL, Uncle Dick Rose, Odessa, MO and many cousins and other relatives.
Cindy attended Cedarvale Jr Academy, Raytown, MO, Dakota Adventist Academy, Bismarck, ND and Union College, Lincoln, NE where she met Norman and they were married December 21, 1986 in Kansas City, MO. Cindy had a kind heart and loved reading books. She loved the Star Wars movies and was a big Star Trek fan. She had seen every single James Bond movie ever made. She also loved the movie, The Sound of Music and watched it every year and knew every word to every song. She never missed sending birthday cards and thank you notes to loved ones and friends. She adored her brother's children and never missed sending birthday or Christmas presents.
Cindy was a secretary and librarian at College Park Christian Academy in Columbia for many years and loved working with the students. Cindy loved her family, especially her children, but most of all, she loved her God.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cindy’s name to College Park Christian Academy, 1114 College Park Drive, Columbia, MO 65203.
The graveside service is August 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
