Lowell was born on September 5, 1937 in Rushville, Indiana to John and Lillian Graves. He was the fifth of seven children. He had an unparalleled bond with his siblings. He spent most of his youth in Cincinnati, Ohio with his large family and extended circle of friends. He graduated from St. Bernard High School where he met his beloved future wife Ruby. Lowell graduated in 1957 from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He started his career in sales at Eagle Pitcher and retired as the President and General Manager of Fiberlite Technologies in Joplin, Missouri.
Lowell and Ruby have two children, Nicki Hager (Brad) and Kyle Graves (Andrea). He also leaves seven grandchildren, Ally (Micheal), Kelsey (Stevan), Tyler, Julia, Blake, Lily and Nick, plus four great-grandchildren, Kal, Sammy, Kyler and Ruby. His family was his greatest legacy.
Ruby’s untimely passing in 1999 left the family heartbroken. Lowell, with his optimistic outlook and abundant heart, found love again when he married Ginny Buck in 2004. Ginny brought him immeasurable joy. Ginny and Lowell lived in Pensacola, Florida and enjoyed many happy hours and sunsets at the beach with friends. To their family’s delight, they relocated to Kansas City in 2013.
Ginny brought to the family her three children, Karen (Ernie), Jim (Barbara), Kathryn (Rob) and six grandchildren: Theo, Gabe, Morgan (Owen), Sydney, Emma and Jason. Lowell embraced them with warm heart.
Lowell will be most remembered for his zest for life, his contagious laughter and infinite love for his family. He was a man of great character and lived a life above moral reproach. He will be profoundly missed.
