Lola Nadine (Welsh) Forrest was born in Coffey, Missouri on September 12, 1923. She was one of eight children born to Victor and Addie Mae (Williams) Welsh. Her life on earth expired on March 30, 2011 at the age of 87 years.
In 1940 she married Eugene Vandiver. To this union two daughters were born, Sandra and Vicki. In 1950, she married James C. Forrest, to this union a daughter was born, Debbie.
She did volunteer work at the Johnson County Nutrition Center for 20 years.
She sold her home of 49 years and moved to Garden Villas of Lenexa where she lived the last seven years of her life.
She is survived by three daughters Sandra (Paul) Hendry of Springtown, Texas, Vicki Hendry of Bronaugh, Missouri and Debbie (Kelley) Gipple of Overland Park, Kansas; one brother Wayne Welsh of Independence, Missouri; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe, Leawood, Kansas. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
