She succumbed to a yearlong battle with cancer. She died peacefully with her family near her.
Lisa was born on December 14, 1971 in Hiawatha, Kansas to Joseph McGinness and Sally Galbraith. She lived there until she moved to Garden City, Kansas where she started her freshman year of high school. Lisa played the bass clarinet, along with tennis, basketball and volleyball. Her favorite class was college algebra. She graduated high school in 1990.
Lisa stayed in Garden City to care for her mother who was sick. During that time, she attended Garden City Community College and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing as a RN. After some time, Lisa met and married Greg Crumb in 2001 and lived in Gower.
For a while, she was a traveling nurse, filling in for long term leaves, or other needs, in Boston, Portland and Hawaii. Throughout her nursing career, Lisa worked at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, Mosiac Hospital in St Joseph, North Kansas City and most recently at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.
Lisa was skilled in all levels of care and the patient was always her priority. But she especially loved working in the NICU with the babies and had certifications for additional training she had done. Lisa was a third generation nurse, following in the footsteps of her grandmother Iva Gorham and her mom.
Lisa is survived by father, Joe McGinness and stepmother Mary; siblings, Steve (Kristin), Michelle (Allen) Atlakson, Mike, step-sisters Tracy Linden and Catherine (Katie) Linden; husband, Greg Crumb; sons, Gregory, Joey and Jack; grandchildren, Aiden and Colt and their mother Destony; nieces and nephews, Joe, Jon, Stephanie, Sara, Adam, Andrew and Emily, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Galbraith, uncle, Jack Gorham and maternal and paternal grandparents.
