Linda A. Daney…aka ‘Diamond Lil’ or ‘Lois Lane’, as her late husband used to call her, took her last voyage on March 26, 2018. She was born on April 26, 1944 and grew up in Independence, a small town in Western Pennsylvania. In 1968, she moved to Raytown, Missouri with her high school sweetheart and husband George Daney. ‘Diamond Lil’ comes from her love of all things bling, from her jewelry to sparkly jackets that she would wear. ‘Lois Lane’ because of the tubs of family pictures she took - of which she is in very few since she was always the one holding the camera. Her sweet tooth was legendary. She would make out of this world icing and ‘forget’ to make the cake (mind you the icing was gone in seconds). She couldn’t balance a check book with an abacus. ‘Diamond Lil’ could be air dropped by parachute in any city and find the closest mall within five minutes flat - and this talent came decades before GPS was invented. She had an obsession about punctuality that she blamed her late husband for, so traveling with her was interesting to say the least - if you like arriving at the airport 4 hours early for a domestic flight. She lived life in the fast lane and drove a vehicle like she went through life - mach one. You can ask for the evidence from her mechanic and how many set of brake pads she went through - quarterly. She was quoted many times saying “You can sleep when you are dead”. There are a few adjectives that come to mind when describing Wonder Woman - devoted Christian, mother, wife, grandparent, and friend. She was selfless and generous (gave away more money than she ever earned - maybe why she needed help balancing her checkbook). Linda was unconditionally loving, nurturing, patient, kind, positive, witty, wise, a counselor, attentive listener, and was very blunt and direct which was very refreshing in a world of political correctness. She loved, laughed, cried, explored, traveled, but most of all…she lived!
We love you forever. You are the best wife, mom, grandparent in the entire galaxy!
In lieu of flowers she insists you make donations payable to the Trump 2020 Campaign (and if you think she is kidding you fell off a turnip truck)!
She will be at least ten minutes early herself to the memorial celebrating her life on Friday, March 30th at 2:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. KC, MO 64133).
Linda insists if you feel a nudge, it is her. She said she will have the last word and you all better be listening because she will still be talking….
