She was born May 10th 1934 to Clarence and Katie Jones. Leu was the oldest of 3 children. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority at Baker University and met the love of her life and married Wes in 1957. They had three children, Mike, Kim and Mark. Leu was a country girl at heart and valued the simple pleasures of home and family and nature. She loved spending time in her beautiful garden that she tended to so diligently as if the plants were her children. She derived great pleasure from the many birds that visited year round, especially the hummingbirds in the summer.
She cherished time with family, hosting annual Thanksgiving dinners, annual summer family reunions at the lake house, and many fabulous vacations with Wes. Leu loved adventure and time with her grandkids, joining them on a neighbor’s trampoline, riding rollercoasters and even Ziplining… not to mention going skydiving at the age of 85! Anchored by a deep faith, she found signs of it everywhere—in clouds, seashells, angels and rolling waves. Her heart was full of love and kindness and helping anyone who needed it. To know Leu was to love Leu. She loved pancakes, ice cream, homemade vegetable soup, fitness, her plant room, and margaritas! This sweet lady will be greatly missed here on earth and Heaven just got a whole lot better.
She was preceded in death by her two sons Mike and Mark. She is survived by her husband Wes, her daughter Kim and husband Rick Roloff, her brothers Robert and Richard Jones, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the The Summit Church in Lee’s Summit on Monday, December 12th at 10 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Leu was a gardener to make the earth proud, in lieu of flowers please plant a little something in her memory.
