Leon V. Grantham

Leon V. Grantham, age 93, of Kansas City, Missouri passes in Peace to join his loving wife, Faye Grantham, son, Robbie Grantham, and, daughter, Pamela Grantham on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the age of 93.

Preceded in death by his twin sister Leona Layher, two sons, Dale Atchinson and Kevin Grantham, grandchildren, Phillip Rodriquez, Vincent Atchinson, Chris Romo, James Romo, Tanisha Grantham, Sharice Grantham, Malessa Grantham, Nickalas Blair, Brianna Grantham, Kevin Grantham, Jasmine Grantham, and Eric Grantham, great grandchildren, Talia Romo, Vincent Atchinson Jr., Arianna Schyer, and Lorenzo Blair. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other close relatives, and friends.

Leon will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and neighbor. Leon was a dedicated and loyal to his government job at Bendix for 35 years and continued to work in Dealer Trade with State Line Nissan and several others. In his retirement he worked in the community to help others in various areas, lawn beautification, home improvement projects, and car restoration. Lastly, his favorite hobby he looked forward to showing his 1968 Ford Falcon Sport Coupe at the different Ford Falcon meets.

Services for Leon will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will begin at 9am with funeral service following at 10am. A committal service with military honors will be at 12:30pm at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
