Lawrence “Larry” Montes, 81 years of age of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on May 22, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family. Larry was born on September 26, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Antonia (Castillo) and John Montes.
He is survived by his children, JR. Montes, Suzanne (Samuel) DeLeon, and Tricia Montes; nine grandchildren, Brianna, Julia, Alex, Johnathan, Samantha, John, Santina, Marisa, and Matthew; five great- grandchildren; brother, John Montes of Monroe, Georgia; sister, Helen Grube of Shawnee, Kansas.
Larry was a life-long resident of Kansas City. He was a barber for 59 years. Larry was married to his beloved wife, Genny, for 52 years. Larry was a loving father and grandfather to his family.
A visitation for Larry will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Avenida Cesar E Chavez, Kansas City, MO, with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at the church. Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64138.
