Golly, 7 years later and I just found out.
Larry and I became rather good friends back in the early 1980s.
At that time we both lived in different buildings downtown Kansas City on Quality Hill.
So sorry to hear about Larry’s passing.
I have not forgotten our talks.

Larry was one of the kindest, most loving people I've ever met. An angel on earth, he is now soaring in heaven.  Will miss his love and support...

I managed the building that Larry lived in for almost 5 years.  I became very good friends with him.  He was there when I was not well and never complained of any pain he had. He always thought of others before himself.  

Larry did love dogs.  He loved my dogs Baxter and Ziggy, and they loved him.  

I will miss Larry very much.  God Bless!

I knew Larry for about 35 years. He was a true friend who took a sincere interest in my life, my work, and my children's well-being.. 

I'll miss his many phone calls, advice on the stock market, throroughbred racing insight, and long visits regarding our favorite sports teams and coaches. 

While living in Chicago in 1990, I joined Larry at Arlington Park and will never forget my excitement of watching one of his horses ...come from the back of the pack and win the race. 

Larry had an amazing memory of people, events, and history. His heroes were those who gave of themselves selflessly for others less fortunate. He had a "heart of gold". 

My daughter and I were looking forward to joining Larry for an Italian dinner  over the holidays. 

RIP Larry...

Larry was probably my Dad's biggest fan and a great friend of the family.  His enthusism for thoroughbred racing and breeding was unmatched.  The Vanier family will miss him greatly! Rest in peace Larry.

I lived in the same apartment building as Larry.  I knew about his love for dogs and my dogs seemed crazy about him, so two years ago, I asked him if he could walk my dogs for me during the day while I was working.  He was ecstatic and has always babied my "girls" Gracie and Cali.  You will see several pictures of him with my dogs if you watch the Video attached to this Obituary.  
Larry was also the kindest person I've ever known and a good friend.  
I will miss him every day.
