Larry was born to Bert Drummond and Joyce Anderson on August 10,1947, in Beloit, Wisconsin. He moved to Overland Park, Kansas in 1953. He demonstrated a strong work ethic by working two jobs throughout high school. Larry graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1965.
Larry graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Business preparing him for a successful career in sales. He eventually developed his own business as a manufacturers rep - Drummond Marketing Inc. (DMI) selling Restaurant supplies and equipment for many manufacturers.
Larry met the love of his life on a flight home to Kansas City from a business trip in Pittsburg Pa. He sat facing a beautiful blonde named Peggy. It didn’t take him . long to get her attention. His gift of gab got her interested and convincing her their meeting was not by chance. Before arriving to KC he had closed the sale on the beginning of a relationship that would last 51 years. They had no children but many dogs over the years and a few cats.
He and Peggy were totally devoted to one another and enjoyed traveling, especially to Palm Springs and Hawaii. They also enjoyed spending family time with his two sisters families and his grand nieces and nephews. He loved watching them grow into individuals he was very proud of.
Larry and Peggy spent time developing their business, maintaining their yard and building their sophisticated Palm Springs style dream home for retirement in Loch Lloyd.
Larry was quite a character people would say of him. Full of energy he was a force to be reckoned with! He leaves all of us who knew and loved him quietly contemplating our great loss.
Larry is survived by his sister Deborah (John) Eplee of Atchison, Susan (Ben) Florance of Stilwell, Nieces and Nephews Justin (Mel) Florance of Olathe, Jaimie (Dan) Gathje of Olathe, Brooke(Alistair) Eplee Reid of New York, Lindsay (Dave) Vance of Atchison, Michael (Kelsey) Eplee of Fort Collins, Colorado and Grand-Nieces and Grand-Nephews Harry Eplee-Reid, Elliott Eplee-Reid, Grace Gathje, Ellie Florance, Julian Vance and Gideon Vance.
