Kevin graduated from Hickman Mills High School in Kansas City in 1981. After graduation, he entered the United States Navy in 1991.
Kevin worked as a medical technician in the navy. After his service he worked as a Military Medical Inductor at Military Entrance Processing Stations. Kevin was a gentle soul with a beautiful smile, full of life, compassion and understanding. As a young kid he loved to sing. There was not a "Michael Jackson" song he could not sing and he knew the dance moves. He didn't lose that talent as an adult, he sang in the church choir.
Kevin was blessed with a loving family. He was a devoted son and brother. He was preceded in death by his father; and his step-father, Charles P. Hughes.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Euna Elam of Grandview, MO; his brothers Byron and Roger Elam both from Kansas City, MO; and a host of Aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
We regret the passing of our beloved son and brother, however, we find peace in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
