He was born April 28th, 1957 and lived in Kansas City, MO his entire life. Kent graduated from Center High School in 1975. He went on to work in the pharmacy department at St. Luke’s Hospital Plaza location where he was a faithful employee for 45 years.
Kent never married and is survived by two brothers, Gary Wayne (Melissa) of Raymore and Gregory Alan of Kansas City. Also four nephews, Jeff, Adam, Jeremiah and Jared as well as two nieces, Lindsay and Hannah. Since he had no children of his own, his nieces and nephews became like his own and he was very loving and generous to them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Carolyn as well as one brother, Kevin Charles.
Kent was a Christian man of faith and a member of Armour Heights Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, was active in the AWANA program and served on various children’s ministries. He also drove the church bus for many years. His hobbies included bowling and softball. He especially loved everything Elvis.
A dependable, loyal and punctual individual, Kent showed kindness, compassion and gentleness to those around him. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Kent to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS 66104.
