Kenneth leaves behind his wife Joanne (Mackay) of 66 years, sons David (Brenda) and Michael (Nina), grandson Connor, sister Linda, and many nieces and nephews. His brothers Reed and Richard preceded him in death.
Ken was born to parents Lester and Inez Perry in Little River, KS in 1933. His spent his youth in Hutchinson and Abilene KS. Memorable experiences included running a paper route, reaching the Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America, and high school sports.
Ken attended Emporia State College where he met and married the love of his life Joanne. They raised their family in Shawnee Mission, KS where they have resided since 1957. He became a highly accomplished teacher in mathematics and physics at Bishop Miege High School. During summer months, he supplemented his income through numerous remodeling projects done for Kansas City homeowners.
After retirement in 1997, Ken built early-American furniture in a business that he shared with a friend. Other interests included home repairs, mechanical fabrication, camping, boating and fishing in Kansas and Canada, Western novels, motorcycling, photography, and Kansas sports teams.
Ken was soft-spoken and non-judgmental. The positive mark he left on family members, friends, neighbors, and students is impossible to fully express. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, humility, patience, generosity, kindness, hard work, and personal integrity.
