Kelli was a caring and compassionate person. In fact, it was this same generous heart that compelled her to become an organ donor. She was passionate about donating her eyes so that another person could see. So passionate, that she even talked of donating an eye while living, so that a dear friend might regain her ability to see. This is just one of countless examples of her loving, giving, selfless spirit. Kelli loved her family and friends, going to any extent to help them. This same kindness went further, to even those she didn't know. She truly knew no strangers. A mother at heart, Kelli adored her children. She spent the greater part of her life living for and educating her children as well as others in need. She was often "on call", willing to drop whatever she was doing so that she might lend a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Young of Richmond, California; Mark Shoemaker of Shawnee, Kansas, and Daniel Moffis, her best friend and caregiver.
Kelli is survived by her mother Lotis Young of Scottsdale, AZ. Two brothers, Todd Rea of AR, Chris Rea of Huntington Beach, CA. Three children, Asia Vanlerberg, Adam Kahler, Alex Kahler of Overland Park, KS. Seven grandchildren, Silas, Elijah, Noah, Gideon, Samuel, Malachi and Autumn.
