Kathryn Marie Stuck

Kathryn Marie (Jones) Stuck passed through death to the promised eternal life with God on Sunday, October 5, 2014. She was born to parents W. Wesley and Alma G. Jones on October 18, 1932 in Kansas City.

Attending Benton Elementary School and Central Junior and Senior High Schools, she completed two years of graduate school before being wed to William L. Stuck in 1953. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together.

Kathryn enjoyed being a wife, mother and skilled homemaker for a number of years.

Her talent as an artist led to a career as an art director both in the Chicago area and in Johnson County, Kansas where she worked at Squire Publications for many years.

Although her accomplishments were varied, she prefers to be remembered as a gentle, loving and involved individual with family, friends and community. Surviving third degree burns in a disastrous accident in 1956, she continued raising a family of three children-Marcia Kay (Stuck) Hamilton (Dennis) and Laura Lee (Stuck) Southwick of Johnson County and David Andrew Stuck (Bonnie) of Nashville, TN. Kathryn took great pride and delight in grandchildren Andrew, Kylie, Caitlin and Everett Southwick and Lindsay and Austin Stuck.

Kathryn was a devoted member of Colonial Presbyterian Church and especially enjoyed her involvement with the Prime Timers and Saints Alive groups. Her brothers Donald Jones of Wheaton, Illinois and Warren Jones of Leawood, Kansas preceded her in death.

Visitation will be at 12:00 PM and will be followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 8, at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Following the service a reception for family and friends will be held in Fellowship Hall.
