M. Kathleen Mills, 96, of Independence, MO passed away on February 8, 2015. Visitation will be Wednesday February 11 at Floral Hills from 2-3:30pm with burial to follow. As a child, her family contributed to the building of Highway 71 from Rich Hill to Nevada Missouri, she was a room mother at the Ashland School in KCMO, and a charter member of The Shepherd’s Center of Independence. She is preceded in death by her father, German Nimrod Underwood; mother, Ola Myrtle Hartley; husband, Kenneth Eugene Mills; son, Kenneth Rodney Mills; and a twin sister at birth. She is survived by daughter, Myrtle Williams Dye; granddaughter, Kathleen (Kevin) Reffitt; great granddaughter, Kayleigh Watts; great grandsons, Derrick and Dustin Reffitt; great great-granddaughter, Savannah Reffitt.
