Katheryn Ann Livengood

Katheryn Ann Livesay Livengood died March 31, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Independence, Missouri to Lora Lee Gallagher and Frank Foster Livesay October 23, 1926. She married Ralph Leon Livengood October 22, 1949 in Independence, Missouri.

Katheryn was predeceased by her husband and son Christopher Frank.

She leaves her daughter, Lora Kay and husband John Pallatto of Dallas; daughter-in-law Diane and husband Jim Dowsey of Rowlette, Texas; grandchildren Angela Nelle Pallatto and husband Chris Hockabout of Alameda, California; Anthony William Pallatto and wife Erina Sasayama of Dallas and Okayama City, Japan; Victor Frank Pallatto of Euless, Texas; Sharon Ruth Livengood and husband Rick Foster of Arvada, Colorado; Jenny Dowsey and wife Jamie Palmer of Galesburg, Illinois; Joshua James Dowsey and wife Nathalie Schuetz of Fate, Texas; great-grandchildren Nathaniel James Hockabout, William Kurt Hockabout, Luna Pallatto, Emily Pallatto, Ronan Pallatto, Miles Pallatto, Ruby Ann Foster, Addison Marie Palmsey and Logan James Dowsey.

Katheryn grew up in Independence, Missouri, moved to Casper, Wyoming, in 1952, moved ten times in five years before settling in Connecticut for 22 years, then moved to Dallas in 1979. She and Ralph enjoyed line-dancing and many volunteer activities. Katheryn was an active Dallas volunteer, serving Meals On Wheels for the VNA for more than 30 years. She and Ralph volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum and she helped out at the Audelia Branch of the Dallas Public Library for many years. Katheryn was a stalwart member of Central Christian Church in Dallas for the past 40 years, helping with the newsletter, sewing pillows for breast cancer patients, singing in the church choir, helping deliver communion to residents of the Juliette Fowler Home, delivering canned food to a food pantry and donating baked goods to the church functions regularly. She leaves many church friends who were family for her in Texas.

A devoted knitter, Katheryn provided each family member with a handmade Christmas stocking. Her granddaughter Angela is continuing the tradition.

Remembrance services will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in memory of Katheryn may be sent to the VNA (Visiting Nurse Association of Dallas) or the Dallas Arboretum.
