She and Ralph enjoyed line-dancing and many volunteer activities. Katheryn was an active Dallas volunteer, serving Meals On Wheels for the VNA for more than 30 years. She and Ralph volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum and she helped out at the Audelia Branch of the Dallas Public Library for many years. Katheryn was a stalwart member of Central Christian Church in Dallas for the past 40 years, helping with the newsletter, sewing pillows for breast cancer patients, singing in the church choir, helping deliver communion to residents of the Juliette Fowler Home, delivering canned food to a food pantry and donating baked goods to the church functions regularly. She leaves many church friends who were family for her in Texas.
A devoted knitter, Katheryn provided each family member with a handmade Christmas stocking. Her granddaughter Angela is continuing the tradition.
