Karen Louise (Rosborough) Riley, 68, of Tucson, Arizona beloved daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on December 23, 2010, surrounded by loved ones while receiving hospice care at her brother’s home in Leawood, Kansas. A Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Mt. After graduating from Rockford East High School, she attended Drake University then took a position as a medical secretary where she met her husband, James Vincent “Jim” Riley, a pharmaceutical sales rep who called on the office where she worked. She married Jim in 1964, and was with him until his passing in 2004. While Jim advanced his career, they were transferred several times before settling in Kansas City. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf and homemaking even while holding a position in the travel department at House of Lloyd, of Grandview, Missouri. Her work in the travel department sparked a love of travel that stayed with her until her passing; Jim and Karen spent a good deal of time exploring many corners of the world throughout their life together. The couple moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2003 following Jim’s retirement and enjoyed a good, although brief time together there. After Jim’s passing in 2004, Karen remained there and enjoyed golfing, sunshine and a supportive community of friends including special friend, Don Hafeman. She is survived by her daughter, Teri Lynn Sullivan and husband Stuart of Louisville, Kentucky; son Michael Patrick Riley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren Elizabeth, Catherine, and Peter Sullivan and Jake Vincent Riley; brother John and sister-in-law Corrine Rosborough and family of Leawood, Kansas and sister Judith Ann Fisher and family of Rockford, Illinois.
