In her final days, she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 14,1940, in Jamesport, Missouri, to her loving parents, Berbatious and Mary Cooper, who preceded her in death.
After completing her education, Karen embarked on her career at BMA, where she would meet the love of her life, Dick. Their union in marriage took place October 3, 1959, in Jamesport, Missouri. Karen continued working until the arrival of her first child in 1960.
Karen resumed her career at BMA after a short break, taking various professional roles. She transitioned to being a committed stay-at-home mom for about eight years to care for the youngest child. Following that, she worked in various roles at different companies. Before returning to and retiring from her dedicated career at BMA in November 1996, accumulating more that 20 years of service
Known for her love of crafts, her many accomplished life goals, and her devotion to her family as mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Karen will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Karen's family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.
She is survived by three sons, Kevin Pritchett (Geoff), Doug Pritchett (Pauline), and Tim Pritchett (Shellie), along with six grandsons and three granddaughters. Numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jeanne Preston (Don) and Christine Chubb-Cooper (Brian), as well as her two brothers, Jeff Cooper (Nina) and Ken Cooper (Beth).
Apart from her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick Pritchett as well as three brothers, a sister, a grandson and her and Dick's beloved dog, Cindy.
Instead of sending flowers, the family kindly asks for contributions to be directed to either Kansas City Hospice House or Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
