She was born on June 17, 1946 in Canton, Ohio where she grew up the seventh of eight children of Ray and Emily Sumser.
She was a loving mother who was actively involved in her sons’ education, sports teams, and clubs during their childhood. June also served her community in various volunteer roles.
June worked supporting a family business for the majority of her career. She was later employed in various office management roles.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Emily Sumser, as well as her siblings, Ray, Mary Alice, Michael, James, Donald and JoAnne.
She is survived by her four sons and their spouses, Brian (Allyson), Mark (Tanya), Todd and Patrick (Mary Ann), her six grandchildren: Max (Vik), Hannah (Justin), Claire, Zach, Lauren and River, as well as her youngest sister, Patti.
June loved to care for her family, read, and was an avid sports enthusiast. She loved the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home (10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO) on Friday, September 13th from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
