Judy was born on May 27th, 1943, the eldest child of Donald Lee Stout, Sr. and Lois Josephine Stout (nee Logan). Judy was a faithful Christian, a hardworking provider, an expert Scrabble player, and was the glue that held the entire family together. She raised two daughters, Lori and Jennifer, that she loved dearly. She married her lifelong partner, Thomas Edward Fitzgerald, in 1980. She was the office manager for the Dental Implant Center in Leawood, KS, for approximately 30 years. She lived in the Kansas City/Raytown area her entire life, but in her later years was able to travel with her family to many destinations including Mexico, Belize, Curacao, the Virgin Islands, Malta, Italy, and Greece. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Independence, MO, holding many volunteer positions and organizing their summer carnival and auction for several years. She gave of her time, talents, and resources to many charitable causes, and especially at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton, MO.
Judy is survived by her husband Tom; her children Lori (Mark) Theiss and Jennifer (Andy) Rucker; her grandchildren Jon (Heather) Theiss, Shayla (Matt) Jenkins, and Zach (Kristen) Theiss; and great-grandchildren Logan Jenkins, Annabelle Theiss, and Arthur Jenkins. She is also survived by her six siblings, Don Stout, Jr., Charlie Stout, Mary (Rod) Erwin, Ted (Anne) Stout, Chris (Viola) Stout, and Barbara (Mark) Klavetter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation beginning at 10:00am and funeral beginning at 11:00am will be held on May 3rd at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 17200 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Following the funeral will be a short graveside ceremony at Floral Hills Cemetery located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, KC, MO 64133.
