Judy K. Byron, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away December 13, 2021. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 21, followed by a rosary service and Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, her family asks for contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Vinita, Oklahoma at a later date.
Judy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and had lived in this area since 1990. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Wilson High School. She then attended and graduated from nursing school as a registered nurse. She then advanced her career to become a nurse anesthetist in 1963. She married her husband, Dr. Osmond F. Byron in 1958 and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. To that union was born two daughters, Lynn and Lisa. Judy was an avid reader, attending Curves classes, and also taught literacy classes after her retirement.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy and Viola; a sister and brother in law, Betty and George Elkins; and a niece Lynette Elkins. Survivors include her daughters, Lynn and her fiancé, Chris; Lisa and her husband, Bob; a step son, Doug and his wife, Theresa; a step daughter Lacy and her husband, Lee McCarty; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Judy will be greatly missed for her compassion and charity. We love and miss you Mother.
