Joyce Blakemore Smith, “Tudy”, 75, North Kansas City, MO, died February 1, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 10th at the Avondale Baptist Church, 2501 NE Parvin Rd, Kansas City North, with Pastor Jerry Breese officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday, February 9th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City.

Joyce was born June 28, 1935 in Gallatin, MO but spent most of her life in Clay County, MO. She was the daughter of Garnet and Lola Blakemore. Joyce married Rodney E. Smith in 1955. They were married 41 years. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1996. Joyce was a former employee of Folgers Coffee Co.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Jeffrey L. Smith and his fiancée, Linda Madsen, Kansas City, North, and Robert E. Smith, Kansas City, North; and brother, Bob Blakemore, Western Grove, AR.

Joyce was a member of the Avondale Baptist Church. She had many dear friends at the church and in the community. She treasured their friendship. Joyce will be loved and greatly missed by her family and friends.
