In keeping with her flair and love of interior design, Joy enrolled in Pierce's Institute of Interior Design and graduated with an associate's degree in Interior Design. Joy not only loved decorating her own home, she loved helping friends and acquaintances with their homes as well.
You were very lucky, indeed, to be invited to one of her amazing dinner parties. She was an expert cook and hostess. Joy enjoyed shopping and was always dressed impeccably with hair done and make-up applied. She enjoyed spending time with her close friends camping, fishing, spending New Year's Eve at the Flaxbeard cabin and watching football. She was a faithful Kansas City Chiefs fan. Joy looked forward all year to spending a week with her "sea sisters" at Wild Dunes in South Carolina. Joy and Chuck enjoyed putting on their cowboy boots and going two-stepping. They faithfully raised their four children in the Church of Christ.
Joy's memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 12:00 noon followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 1:00 PM.
