During his high school years, he met Carolyn Tackett. They worked together at Woolco in Kansas City. He was transferred to Texas and Carolyn joined him. One year later they came back to Missouri ,and shortly thereafter eloped and got married in Miami, Ok in March of 1978. 17 months later they had their first son Jason and the rest of the kids quickly followed.
Joe was a dedicated union worker in the automotive industry, and the type of employee that any company would be proud to call their own. He exhibited compassion, dedication, and most importantly attendance. He would pick up as many extra shifts as possible to meet the needs of his company, and rarely took any vacation days. He was a leader in the warehouse, and made his presence known in a positive way.
Joe was an avid Kansas City fan. His pride in Kansas City sports teams was well known amongst his family, friends, and colleagues. He loved listening to old country music, and would pull out his guitar and play is own music. He loved just being outside. Yard work, outdoor projects, and even going to the Lake of the Ozarks took up some of his free time. Most importantly he was a family man. He loved spending time with all his family and made sure everyone was always having a great time!
