Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28 from 9:30-10:30AM at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th St, Leawood, KS, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. Burial will be after Mass at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO.
John was born November 13, 1918 in Monroe City, MO. He was married twice; to Cynthia Jane Peterson, the mother of his four children, and later to Dorothy Ragan.
John was employed by British Petroleum, formerly Standard Oil and Amoco for 45 years. He worked at the Sugar Creek Refinery and, internationally, building refineries in Australia, India, Wales and Africa. He received his chemical engineering degree in 1937 from Kansas University. As a Naval officer, he served in the Pacific for four years leading up to the fall of Japan.
John was predeceased by two sons, Christopher and Donald. He is survived by his sons James and David, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
