Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11am, with a rosary prayer at 9:30am and visitation starting at 10am, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 MO-9, Kansas City, MO 64152. Burial with Military Honors will follow services in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Bill was born in Kansas City, MO to Timothy and Jenny (Chisam) Casey on February 11, 1930. He went to school at De La Salle High School. He married Maryann Ameel on March 29, 1952 at St. Therese Catholic Church. They spent 49 years together until her death in 2000.
Bill worked as a Custodian for the North Kansas City School District until his retirement. He was a veteran of Korean War and served in the Army and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, 2 Bronze Service Stars, and 1 Overseas Bar.
In his free time, Bill liked to spend time outdoors fishing, boating, coaching baseball, and enjoying his grandchildren play numerous sports.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife Maryann; son-in-law Rick Thigpen; brothers, Timothy Jr. and Robert Casey; and sisters, Eula Cook, Marie De Cuer, Ilene Becker, Louise Albers, and Cecilia Ann Casey.
Bill is survived by his son, Daniel (Rhonda) Casey of Wheatland, MO; daughters, Maureen (Scotty) Williams of Platte City, MO and Sheila Thigpen of Kansas City, MO; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Three Rivers Hospice.
