I used to know Joan when I worked as all-night announcer at WIBW-FM Topeka in the 80's.  She would come in early and do the news. I remember her as a kind and compassionate person.  I had no idea that she had died.  I am very sorry this has happened.  Prayers to her family and friends.  

I just loved Joan. She was such a doll. She wrote and produced for my small production company after MO Outdoors. We spent a lot of time together while working and had so much fun laughing and talking about our lives. Her girls, her husband, her sister and family were her world. She loved nature and especially birds. Joan also lived the healthiest lifestyle of anyone I know. I enjoyed conferring with her about the best quality products and nutritious foods; so her passing is very hard to understand. But I know, we simply can't understand the mysteries of God. I believe sometimes God calls an Angel home, and that would certainly be Joan.

My heart goes out to the Cuthbertson family and Carlson family.  Words cannot even begin to express my sorrow.  Joan was an incredible person and was taken too soon.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Wishing you as much peace as possible during this difficult time.  

Such a  kind, compassionate, loving person and a sister-in-law who was taken way too soon.  Miss you and Love you forever!

I had been friends with Joan for 40 years, she was an amazing and special ~ close friend.  She was and will always be one of my favorite people.. so positive, fun, loving, kind, caring, informative, smart and brave.  I will miss her smile, laugh and warm personality.  I was blessed to be her friend.   When a family has such a wonderful Mom, Wife and friend ... beautiful traits get passed to her children and other family members ... because people bloom by their example.  Joan loved and cared for her husband Jeff, her girls, sister and family ~ and I have no doubt that~ they ~ will continue to care for and love each other and others.. just as they were loved.

 I am so saddened by the loss of Joan. My prayers go out to her family.
  I will always remember Joan for the beautiful gifts she brought into this world. Her love for people, animals and nature were unsurpassed.
