Joachim "Jack" Hernandez

Joachim “Jack” Hernandez, 77 of Kansas City, MO died August 2, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by family. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 pm at the Mc Gilley Midtown Chapel, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 6, at 10:00 am at Holy Name Church, Southwest Boulevard and Iowa, KCK. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCK.

Jack was born August 16, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to Francisco and Guadalupe (Barbosa) Hernandez. Jack worked for Honeywell in security until his retirement. Jack was a devoted family man. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gregory in 1996; a brother, Elias Martinez and two sisters, Mary Weaver and Frances Padilla. Jack’s survivors include his wife of 55 years, Josephine (Jo) of the home; four sons, James (Patricia), Xavier (Lisa), John (Hazel) and Michael, all of the Metro area; three daughters, Anita DeMar of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Steve) Busch and Rachel Espinoza, both of the Metro area; two brothers, Jesse Martinez of Ketchikan, AK and Tony (Mary Lou)Hernandez and a sister, Ruth Quirarte; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
