Jimmie Lyle Boyer, Sr., Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at John Knox Village Hospice House, at the age of 86. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes, Rd, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. The family request that visitors wear casual attire. Lunch for all attendees will be served immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers,contributions may be made to John Knox Village Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.
Jim was born to Leonard and Celia Boyer on June 13, 1929 in Cameron, Missouri. He grew
up in Leavenworth, Kansas and graduated from Leavenworth High School. He then went to college for two years in Portland, Oregon. Jim was married to Doris Craft in 1950 in Kansas City. He retired from Honeywell Federal Manufacturing Kansas City Manufacturing Plant in 1992 after 33 years of service as a general machinist. He was a member of Hickman Mills Community Christian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by one son, Jerold; his parents, brothers Verneil, Bruce, Roy, John, Leonard, Jr, Jack, and Paul; sisters Ruth Kenworthy and Mary Boyer. Survivors include wife Doris Boyer of the home; son Jimmie Boyer, Jr. (Francy) of Kansas City; daughter Linda Picard (Steve) of Leeʼs Summit; grandson Jeremie Picard of Grandview, MO; and granddaughter Jennifer Picard of Kansas City.
