On Thursday, August 1, 2019, Jewell Ellen (Hall)Nicotra passed away at Research Hospital surrounded by family. Born on April 10, 1925, Jewell was 94 years of age. Jewell retired from AT&T. Perhaps her most remembered job; however, was as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. Her six brothers all served in that war and returned safely.
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore (Sam) Nicotra. She was also predeceased by her parents, J. Frank Hall and Pearl (Shipley) Hall; her brothers, Clifford, Hubey, Carl, Wendell, Leo, and Ralph; and her sister Betty.
Jewell is survived by her daughter Sharon Tamborella and her husband Joseph; her son Larry Nicotra and his wife Susan; three grandchildren, Gina Harris and husband David, Christie Walton and husband Brian, and Philip Nicotra and wife Karin. Jewell was also the great-grandmother of nine beautiful great-grandchildren and one handsome little great-great-grandson.
Jewell was an accomplished quilter, crafted beautiful embroidery, and was an avid reader.
