I am thinking about Jessie today. I miss our friendship, and I shall always be grateful for  it. 

I will miss Jessie and am grateful I was privileged to work with her. As a colleague of Jessie’s  I can honestly say Jessie always made me look into any concerns I had and look more deeply than I might have otherwise.  The depth and scope of Jessie’s insights always illuminated. I celebrate Jessie’s humor and wry analysis of events on the world stage both locally and nationally. Jessie brought a certain presence that was at once, enthusiastic, challenging, understanding and caring.  Jessie’s knowledge both from her voracious reading and amazing experiences in the United States and abroad made for a discussion with a depth  I will miss. I will keep Jessie’s lessons close and continue to learn from Jessie.

I enjoyed working with Jessie as a colleague at KCKCC in the Social Sciences division.  She was friendly and pleasant.  I’m saddened by her passing.

I shall always remember and appreciate Jessie.  She was a 
wonderful colleague, and we spent lots of time talking over breakfasts and on the phone.  I was a beneficiary of her knowledge of,  and enthusiasm about, many topics. 
She liked people, she was humane, and her empathy for others inspired me.
It was a privilege to be her friend. I shall miss her.  

Aunt JJ is dearly loved by us. We will miss her quick-wittedness, sense of humor, intellect, and great family stories. Chris always said if he was ever on “Who want to be a millionaire”, Aunt JJ would be his phone a friend. Carla will miss how it didn’t matter the topic Aunt JJ was so well-read she could converse about any subject. We used to rock climb and Aunt JJ knew so much about rock climbing you would have thought she had been many times herself, yet had never climbed once. She was a special lady and we both sure love her.

Jessie, somehow you became one of my best friends and favorite people to talk to in the past six years since we met at KCKCC.  Even now, I have the urge to call and tell you how my first week of school is going.  If you don't mind, I want to share with everyone my favorite photo of you.  We were each other's "dates" on Valentine's Day 2018 and you celebrated with a glass of scotch even though you normally didn't drink (I'm not sure what I was drinking).  You were sitting across the table from me with this Ernest Hemingway-era "coolness" and aplomb, so I had to take a photo.  Here's to you, kid.  -Heidi 

Jessie Jo was an amazing woman who touched our lives in many ways. We cherish the memories of Jessie Jo and she will always be a  part of our lives. Rest peacefully my friend and know that we love you. ❤️❤️❤️

Jessie will be missed. She was kind hearted and always believed in others seeing the best in everyone. I will miss our lengthy conversations in the hallways.  Rest in peace, Jessie!

Jessie will definitely be missed.  She was a very kind and thoughtful person with a warm spirit.  She enjoyed people and she loved to laugh.  She was a dedicated educator who cared deeply not only about her students and colleagues but also about the collective well being of society . . . of mankind.   The Social and Behavioral Science & Public Services division, indeed the entire Kansas City Kansas Community College, extends sincere condolences to Jessie's family and friends.
