Jesse was born November 12, 1926 in Armstrong, Missouri to the late Leslie Gibson and Zadie Bartee.
Jesse was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Soft spoken, kind and always ready to help his family and friends with any project that came along. If he did not know how to fix it he could always “jesse-rig-it”. He especially enjoyed watching and encouraging his sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters to play just about any sports they were involved in, traveling to almost all out-of-town games and tournaments. You could be assured if at all possible he would be sitting in the stands, shooting, throwing, and kicking every ball, and swinging every bat right along with them.
He was preceded in death by Dorothy, his loving wife of 68 years and Grandson Ryan Patrick Peace.
Jesse was survived by his 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Jesse D Gibson (Mary) grandchildren and great grandchildren Kristina Clay (Ray) (Veronica, Isaac), and Paul Gibson (Molly) (Baric, Oscar and Evie). Deby Huske (Chuck) grandchildren and great grandchildren Nikki Lindsey (Jamaal) (Layla), Garrett Peace (Megan) (Sawyer and Everett). Sandy Short, grandchildren and great grandchildren Matt Short (Summer) (Clayton, Dominic, Kyle, Hunter, Logan and Wyatt), Dustin Short (Sara) and Anthony Villalobos (Makaya) (Otto).
