Jerry was born October 9th, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his wife Patty Moore, daughters Rhonda (Jim) Beckford, Darla (Darin) Harris, two grandsons Thomas Beckford and Devin Harris, brothers Lonnie (Patty) Moore, Robert (Becky) Moore, sister Betty Wiles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Sue Swartz and granddaughter Kara Kopetsky.
Jerry was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but grew up in Osceola, Missouri oldest of 5 children born to Wallace and Lucille Moore.
Jerry was a dedicated employee to Mount Moriah Cemetery for 48 years. Upon retiring he moved back to Osceola to care for his parents and his "hobby" farm. He said he worked harder retired than he did when employed, which would have been impossible. He was a hard worker, true leader, great mentor and friend.
For many years he restored tractors with his friend Glen and cousin Charlie as a side hobby. He enjoyed the outdoors. Working on the farm, fishing, running trot lines and hunting with his grandsons, baling hay with his cousin and friend Roger Park, mushroom hunting, burning brush piles, picking up rocks in the pasture in the rocky soil of St. Clair County is where he spent a lot of his time. He had so many hummingbirds he would say, "they are going to eat me out of house and home", but he enjoyed them so. He was never idle and could work circles around anyone.
A proud moment his family and friends were able to witness was at the age of 72 Jerry Moore accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. It's truly never too late.
Jerry Moore had a big heart, was loved and known by many. He was an amazing father, friend and husband who never knew a stranger.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mtmoriah.net for the Moore family.
