Jerry was born on October 2, 1943 to Paul and Fern Davis. He served on active duty in the Navy for four years between 1961-1967. Jerry worked as an electrician and spoke fondly of his contributions to various landmarks in Kansas City. He was a 50+ year member of IBEW Local 124.
On June 29, 1973 he married Patricia Joan Taylor. They raised two children, Shelly Slover and Michael Davis. The family has remained at the same residence in Independence for over fifty years.
Jerry loved the outdoors. He raised several trophy winning Brittany Spaniels, was an avid fisherman and proud gun owner. He shared his love of fishing with his four grandchildren. Jerry was passionate about blues music and enjoyed live performances around the country. He was known for his funny and occasionally outlandish stories, his fierce loyalty to friends and family, and passing along valuable life lessons.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving parents. He is survived by Patricia and their two children, his four grandchildren, and his six great-grandchildren.
Jerry requested no funeral services but immediate family will hold a private graveside ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri.
