Evelyn- I only met Jerry a few times during our working days together, but I always thought- what a good man he was.  He just made that kind of impression.   I know he was a kind, Christian man.  You. your children and grandchildren,  were blessed to have him in your lives.  

I'm so thankful to have known Jerry Brooks in Disciples Sunday School Class at KC First and then as he and Evelyn helped me start a new church in Overland Park.  What a kind soul who always carried the calming presence of Jesus and a smile.  Jerry had a brilliant mind, willing to figure out anything, for which I was thankful as we needed a church treasurer and Jerry, never having done that before, did an outstanding job.  We shared lots of laughs around the dinner table, deep times of prayer, and joy.  I am so thankful we will see Jerry again in heaven, as there is no doubt he is with our Lord and Savior. Jerry was a kind sole. He will always have a place in my heart.
Jerry and I grew up together in Tucson.  Since I was a year older, I took Jerry to school on his first day to show him where his room was.  We always met out front and walked together.
When he wasn't tinkering with his Dad in the workshop, we had time to play and what good times those were.  We rode bikes, skated and built things together with his Erector Set. Go figure he became an Engineer.  Matter a fact, I think I even gave him the Chicken Pox.
I will cherish the memories forever. Times were good and our friendship lasted forever.  R.I.P. my dear friend.  Please give my love to our parents.

One of the good guys we trusted and loved working with.  Heaven is a better place now.  I look forward to seeing him there in the presence of our Lord.



I was saddened to hear about Jerry's death.  I worked at Burns & McDonnell for 32 years and most of that time I had the pleasure of being able to work with Jerry.  He lead the electrical engineering design on many power plant projects we worked on together!  I will always remember Jerry for his jovial attitude and his apparent love for Jesus in his life.  I will surely miss Jerry Brooks; may God's blessing be on him and his family.

I worked with Jerry at Burns a McDonnell for over 30 years and he was one of the kindest people I encountered. He was very easy to talk to and he would offer great advice, but in a way that was never condescending, always encouraging you.
We enjoyed our visits with he and Evelyn.
