Jerry Adams was born in Mayfield, KY to parents Harvey Boyd Adams and Elsie Merle Hixson Adams and grew up in Pryorsburg, KY. Jerry enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with friends at the pool hall. He had an excellent work ethic even at an early age growing tobacco and tending to the family garden.

It was in Kansas City that Jerry met his wife Carol Hall, and they married in 1963. They had their first son, Brian Keith in 1964 and Bradley Louis in 1970. Jerry later went to work at TWA (purchased by American Airlines) as a mechanic and a powerhouse operator. He completed his career there.
Jerry was known for being thrifty and enjoyed a good banter with the new car salesperson when making a purchase. He wanted to get the biggest bang for his buck. He was honest, hardworking, and taught his children the importance of a job well done. He was a saver and a wonderful provider for his family.
Jerry and Carol attended church services at Northside Christian Church and then Clay County Church. They made many friends there and enjoyed playing cards with various couples on the weekend.
