Jeffery "Jeff” Yeager, 68, died peacefully on November 18, 2024. Jeff was born on July 17, 1956, in San Diego to Harold and Georgia (Bounds) Yeager. Jeff spent his youth touring the United States West Coast, living in Hawaii and working on a papaya farm, traveling Central America on a yacht, and finding adventure wherever possible. Jeff settled in Rock Island, IL, in the late 1980s. Jeff and his ex-wife, Kathy, started their family by welcoming Dan and their twins, Char and Cory. Jeff started his business, Jeff Yeager Tile, which operated for over 30 years, moving to Kansas City in 2012. He was accomplished at tile setting and helped many people create a beautiful home. Jeff was known for his humor and sense of adventure and travel, and he passed these traits on to his children. Anyone who knows him has a “Jeff Yeager Story” that is sure to make the room smile and laugh. His children remember him as a loving and dedicated father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and passions.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Georgia, and his sister, JoAnn.
Jeff is survived by his children, Dan, Char (husband Sajith), and Cory; his siblings, Terry, Karen, Kathy, & Tom; his partner, Paula Friend; and of course, his beloved cat, Miss Kitty.
His life will be celebrated on his birthday as he wanted, with tacos, margaritas, and pineapple upside-down cake for all.
