She was born on July 16, 1930 to Paul and Mary Catherine (Roberts) Biggs and was the oldest daughter of four children. She graduated in 1948 from North Kansas City High School. She was also married on May 21, 1948 and later divorced in 1977. She had two children, Nancy and Johnny.
She was a homemaker while her children were growing up. Her children were her life and her whole world revolved around them. She was involved in PTA, sports activities, Girl and Boy Scouts and fundraising. Later on, she became a receptionist for law firms here north of river. She enjoyed working and making new friends. She loved going to the lake, boat rides, traveling to visit friends, cruises, and trying new adventures. She was feisty and determined.
Jeanne was overjoyed when she became a grandmother and a GG. She was always there for those she loved and she did whatever she could to make their lives easier. She was ready with advice and/or sympathy anytime it was needed. Jeanne was so proud of their accomplishments and wanted them to reach their goals and achieve their dreams.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Catherine Biggs; her son, John Alan; her sister, Norma Bratcher; her brother, Bob Biggs; brothers-in-law, Robert Bratcher and Ronald Smith; and her son-in-law, James Smith.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nancy Smith of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; her sister, Paula Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister-in-law, Joyce (Biggs) Wager of Stover, Missouri; her grandchildren; Kyle Witt, Shanna Reaves, Travis Smith (Hannah); great-grandchildren; Rian, Daniel, Shyla, JJ, Devon, Aidan and Ashtyn; and great great-grandchild, Kingstyn, many nieces and great nieces and nephews.
A visitation and celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 20 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, Missouri 64119; visitation beginning at 10 am and celebration of life service starting at 11am. The burial will be immediately following at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri 64119.
