Jeanne Marie Biggs

Jeanne Marie Biggs, 91, Grain Valley, MO, passed away March 1, 2012. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 9201 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114. Inurnment in Chapel of Hope, Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church. Mrs. Biggs was born April 10, 1920 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of James Joseph and Jeanne Elizabeth (Tyner) Downey. She graduated from Southwest High School and attended University of Kansas City. Mrs. Biggs taught preschool before becoming a homemaker. She had been a member of All Saints Episcopal Church since 1952. She was a member of the Peace Makers Quilt group at All Saints Church and a Den Mother for Pack 62 for all of her sons. She guided all four boys to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. She was a terrific Mom to her four boys and many of their friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John D. Biggs. She is survived by her brother Jack Delmont Downey of Arlington, TX; her sons John D. Biggs, Jr. and wife Joyce of Grain Valley, MO, James R. Biggs and wife Christie of Olathe, KS, Jeffrey D. Biggs and wife Cathi of Kansas City, MO and Phillip D. Biggs and wife Deana of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
