Mrs. Jean E. Jackson, 84, Kansas City, Missouri passed away November 10, 2014. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel, 10507 Holmes Road. Private burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson was born September 12, 1930 in Alton, Illinois, daughter of Bynum D. and Bethel E. (Hodnette) Nicholas. She was a graduate of Ohio State University, receiving her Masters from UMKC. She was a KCMO school teacher, teaching grades 2-12. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Delta Sigma Theta, enjoyed playing bridge at Veledas Social Club, and was on the board of directors of St. Vincent’s Childhood Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Jackson and daughter Lorna Jackson. She is survived by son Richard C. Jackson (Cordelia), Lee’s Summit, Missouri; daughter Deborah Jackson, Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren Destiny K. and Lance D. Jackson, and great-grandchild Dazonni Griswold.
