A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11am, with visitation starting at 10am, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd., Kansas City, MO 64119. Interment follows services at 1:30pm in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
Janice was born in Wright County, MO on December 3, 1938 to Terry Anderson and Edna Francis Adkins. She attended Hartville High School and graduated at the young age of 16. Janice went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in teaching from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO.
Janice worked at the Econo Lodge near the KCI Airport and retired in 2012. She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, watching western movies, and traveling. During her lifetime, Janice had visited Hawaii and Israel, as well as taking her family on vacations to Myrtle Beach, Colorado Springs, and Orlando.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Bass; brothers, Thomas and John Adkins; and sisters, Louise Shropshire, Marjorie Stark, Lois Maraman, and Elaine Adkins.
She leaves behind her son, John Michael Bass; and grandchildren Elizabeth Jill, Anabella Grace, and Benjamin Michael Bass to cherish her memory.
