Janet McLaughlin, 78, Leawood, Kansas, passed away December 7, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House, after battling cancer. Janet was born January 1, 1933 to Alfred and Lela Crosswhite. She graduated from high school in Springfield, Missouri. Some of her places of employment were in downtown Kansas City at the Commonwealth Theatre on Theatre Row and she also worked in the KCP&L Building. She married William McLaughlin in 1957. They both attended the Thunderbird School of Business in Phoenix, Arizona. In Kansas City, she worked alongside her husband at his business, XENTEX. She was President of the Round Hill Women’s Club in 1970 where they lived for 30 years. She loved the Lake of the Ozarks and was on the board at the Four Seasons Racquet and Country Club where she served as treasurer. She co-owned Santa Fe Tan with her daughter for 18 years. Janet’s greatest love in life was being the best grandma, mother and wife to her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband just two months earlier, Bill McLaughlin. She is survived by her daughter Debbie McLaughlin Mandry; her grandson Connor Mandry; sister-in-law Dorothy and her husband Jean Haberichter, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Entombment in Faith Mausoleum, Mt. Moriah Cemetery South.
