Jim was born in Kansas City, MO on April 6, 1950 and died peacefully at home with his loving wife Annie at his side on May 17, 2023. Jim graduated from Rockhurst High School (class of 1968) and the University of Kansas. He had a stellar early career at Ranchmart Standard gas station along his brothers and many of his friends. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own successful painting contracting businesses in Missouri and Colorado.
There are very few people in this world that no matter who you ask would be described as a good man, with a kind and gentle heart. That was Jim. A true renaissance man, whose motto was "life is meant to be enjoyed", he connected with people in ways others could only hope to. He was dedicated to his family and so proud to be part of the Sheridan clan. He had countless friends, many of whom he had known his entire life. Jim was one of those rare people who, when you were with him, made you feel as though you were the most important person in the world. Quick-witted, talented, and a lover of the outdoors, Jim was a true Irishman. Sláinte!
In addition to his wife Ann (O’Brien), he is survived by his siblings John Sheridan (Sherry), Bob Sheridan (Carolyn), Joe Ryan, Sue Agnew, Steve Sheridan (Debbie), Lori Ryan, Judy Pope, Sally Sheridan (Dwight), Jenny McDonald (Craig), Marcy Kincaid (Chuck), and beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Jim was preceded in death by his father John "Jack" Sheridan, his mother Jean Sheridan Ryan, his stepfather Bob Ryan, his sister Nancy Carter, and his brother Bill Sheridan.
Visitation May 31, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
