James Arlis McKim

Jim was born in Des Moines Iowa, and received a bachelors degree in business management at Drake University. He married his college sweetheart Mary Jane (Fling) and had one daughter Mary Kathleen (predeceased), son John Arlis, son James Michael (Nancy Engelmann), son Thomas Ross. Mary Jane passed in 1971. Jim served in the U.S Army Corps of Engineers 1st Mountain Division.

Jim was a beloved father, husband, and humanitarian, working with Boy Scouts, neighborhood sports teams, as their coach, mentor and overall hero.

He re-married in 1973 to Jane (Jacobson), they were married for 50 years, adding son John Johnson, and daughter Renee (Matt Ebert)

They had a loving and long life together, traveling and sharing, living a happy life.

He is survived by wife Jane, children John (McKim), John (Johnson) (Penny predeceased), Jim (Nancy), Renee (Matt), Tom. Grandchildren Steven, Ali & Sammy.

A Celebration of Life for James will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Leawood Presbyterian Church, 2715 West 83rd Street, Leawood, KS 66206.
