James "Jim" Stevens Davis

In loving memory of James "Jim" Stevens Davis, a devoted father and grandfather who departed from this world on December 14th, 2023. His unwavering love and resilience left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Jim faced the challenges of dementia with grace and courage, often found singing and dancing in the halls.

Born on October 8, 1944 to Charles O. Davis and Marjorie Lou Rea Davis, Jim led his life filled with compassion, dedication, and joy. His commitment to family and community defined him as a pillar of strength. Throughout his journey, Jim touched the lives of many, creating lasting memories.

Jim attended Southwest High School and earned his degree in Civil Sanitary Engineering from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He began his career as the Director of Pollution Control for the City of Kansas City, Missouri and retired from the City in 1990 to begin British Traditions, Inc., manufacturers of Authentic European Country furniture.

With showrooms across the U.S., British Traditions shipped furniture and custom cabinetry nationwide from their factory in Grandview, MO. Jim and Kathy traveled to England, Italy and France to find inspiration for their line.

Jim was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. Jim was known for his spirited cheers for the Kansas City Chiefs, Mizzou Tigers, and Tiger Woods.

Jim is survived by his wife Kathy Davis, his children: Chris Davis, Lillie Davis and Nick Davis. Grandchildren: Tori Davis, Paul Davis, E.J. Davis and Clementine Davis. Sister: Kimberley Davis, Brother: Kevin Davis (Connie), Nieces: Mary Mason, Sarah Bernal (Josh) and Becky Munk (Curtis). Nephews: Justin Kerr (Penny), Price Mason, Seth Jacob (Stephanie), Josh Minturn (Leslie), and Zach Davis.

Family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to “Operation Breakthrough”.
